Shout Out for GELI

Fabulous Friends (c) Geli Duncan 2010
Good evening everyone...I must admit the time spent at the Mater A&E this morning was not fun...I lost a bit of my hearing aid in my ear canal and they had to get a light and forceps to grab and remove it ...ouch... well since my regular audiologiest is on holidays, I will have to be slightly 'hard of hearing' myself for the remainder of the holidays LOL. At least I dont need myhearing to give this kind of SHOUT !! I've got FOUR LO's to share so my apologies if this is a bit of a long posting :) - the first up "Fabulous Friends" was created by my friend Geli for the Christmas swap i participated in - Do my remember the LO "Just how did he get so big mum?" that I created for Alison, well this is the fabulous LO I received in return. I LOVE IT ALL...The other three have either been inspired and/or taught me by Geli, who I met quite by accidental positive chance earlier this year, so I've decided since this will be my last post for 2010, I thought it a fitting time to SHOUT OUT to the lovely, ROCKIN' GELI DUNCAN...hopefully she will hear LOL. In addition, my HUGE thankyou to all of my blog followers and you who have helped, encouraged and believed in me this year...please enjoy the LO's and the rest of the holiday season. I'm hoping and wishing you ALL a wonderful happy, healthy and SAFE NEW YEAR 2011 and beyond.  {LOADS OF HEARTS} Mazz xxxxxxxxxxxx

Christmas JOY

Helen & Norman's Christmas JOY 2009
Well, I had thought I'd be playing with baby toys today with Lily (my 7th month baby munchkin), but alas she would not settle at all for me (or her mum) today. I think she needs to get to know me and trust me a little over several days/weeks first...having said that Lily is a very smart little girl and I wonder if she is just trying it on?  All she really wanted was for her mum to hold her. As soon as I even tried to take her she started to grizzle. When she got extremely tired, she got so agitated I thought she was going to throw up she got herself into such a state, her mum had to take her home.  Hopefully after a few visits she might settle.  Are they any baby 'whisperers' out there ???
Oh well, I can post the LO earlier than expected :) The photo is of Ian's (DH) cousin Helen and her hubby Norman when we visited them in their home in Beach Haven (N.Z) last Christmas.  Helen & Norman look so joyful and happy together I just had to scrap it.   This LO was inspired firstly by the beautiful handmade card that my friend Geli made me for Christmas this year.  I hope she understands that I had to cut it up for the fortnightly challenge on the Boxx.  friendsYou can see (card below below) that the Christmas tree, the red ribbon and two circles embellishments next to the photo were on front of that card - I was lucky enough to find 'quite by chance' the same red ribbon in my stash!!  I also matched the colours on the pp with those  on Kaiser Christmas Carnival collection. I've based the design on December's sketch challenge over at Handmade by Suzanne  and I'm really happy the way its turned out. I really love the blue & yellow, mixed in with the traditional  Christmas red and greens.  other supplies used: Kaiser flowers and brad, dies are by K & Company, We are Memory Keepers and Bella! Chipz; the doily is from Scrapping Outback; A2Z scraplets chip board title; Kindy Glitz; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (glacier); Cuttlebug alpha; Sakura Gelly pen; twine & ribbon from stash; VersaColor Ink and StampIt (enamelware) embossing powder.  TFL and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone

Feeding The Ducks...

Myles Davis, circa 1989
Back to work today...I have to spend the day 'sorting' in the Munchkins' room, as I've kindly been loaned some toys, books and linen by my friend Lisbet, and I have Lily coming tomorrow..Meanwhile, the other week I came across some photos that Ian (DH) had taken before I met him, that I decided to scrap. The photos are of Ian's nephew Karl at around age 1 and he looks so cute, I just couldnt resist! The LO is based on sketch#66 over at Let's Capture these Sketches.  The challenge is to make something homemade on the page...so as you can see I made those cute flowers, they tell me its called teabag folding, I just added a tutorial page, but you can get heaps more on YouTube...and added those cute little felt critters. supplies used: All My Memories pps; Cuttlebug alpha; Dimensional magic; Sassafras felt critters; homemade flowers; Colorbox ink (cocoa); doily and ribbon from stash. ENJOY...TFL :)

Compliments of the SEASON everyone...

I do hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas! Except for the rain that has been pouring down for over a week now, our Christmas was spent with friends and their family, it was lovely and relaxing, except for having to keep under cover because of the rain of course and we ate, drank and laughed the whole day! SO...apart from scrapbooking I'm REALLY going to have to get into more walking in 2011 !!! I'm afraid the rain has not let up even for photographing these 2 layouts that I've finished......

First up..."Fruit at the floating market" for Get Picky Sketch Challenge # 3  AND Deb's Creations December Challenge # 2 "Let's Get Fruity!"...I had so much fun with this. The photo was taken at the floating market while on our holiday in Thailand in 2008. Supplies used: Kaiser pps (Lush collection); Bazzil cardstock; Sassafras felt fruit and alpha stickers; cherry button from Purple Pumpkin; Rusty Pickle alpha; florist mesh; Thailand postage stamp, ribbon and metal charm from stash.  TFL.

Second..."Sugar and Spice"...I've been wanting to scrap this photo since I received it after my sister's 40th birthday in 2003!!! I've entered this into the Scrapping Outback December 5 Product challenge and Creative Scrappers sketch#135. Supplies used: Pink Paislee (Office Lingo collection) pps, ribbons and rub-ons; cuttle-bug for the flower; CarlaCraft punch (butterflies); A2Z Chipboard alpha and alpha stamps for title; Versacolor ink (raspberry); Dimensional Magic.  TFl......well I do hope you'll enjoy the rest of this week as well as the Christmas holidays - pending the rain ceasing here in Queensland and New South Wales of course :)

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
