Pincusion Protea

Pincusion Protea
When I was deciding on which challenges I would attempt this month, I was humming and harring because of the huge committment with Scrapping Outback's MSR that started last Monday (16th May). I will post my LO in the future, but in the meantime please feel free to go and peek in the gallery at SO.
For a while now, I've been on the outlook for inspiration to create something a little different, because there being so many amazing and what I tend to call "not me" techniques and ways of presenting layouts.  As a result I have come up with this LO...using my favourite colour (if you dont know me well, my fave colour of all time is ORANGE!!) purple pumpkin (orange & white spotted) button, gel medium and white gesso for texture :) Also, the fortnightly challenge over at the Boxx is to use 'non people' photos, which I have to admit is so 'not me' (mmmm, that's why they call it a challenge !!!) so I'm quite delighted with the result! please feel free to leave constructive critisism in the comments as I honestly want to learn from my mistakes!!

I've submitted this LO for the following challenges:
  1. The BOXX (no people photos)
  2. White With One (white + orange + scallops)
  3. Southern Girls Challenge (frills of lace and polish of pearls)
  4. Purple Pumpkin May sketch challenge (using a Purple Pumpkin button)
Have a great week everyone & TFL xxx p.s. I took the photo of the beautiful orange flower in January 2009 in the Bay of Islands in NZ. Thanks to my gorgeous cyber friend Louise Forsyth who informed me of the name of it and inspired me with the LO title :)

Forever - I love you Mum

There are quite a few reasons I decided to scrap this LO, firstly because I've been waiting for what seems for ever to be inspired on how to scrap these specific photos...my mum was just so gorgeous at age 17, (in my opinion of course, she still is at age 71 lol)...When I saw the  May 'white with a twist' challenge colours  over at Scrapping Outback, I knew at once this was the right time! In addition its mother's day here tomorow and I really wanted to say "I love you mum' in a scrap LO which I will eventually give her...Products used: Kaiser, G45 and stash pps; ScrapFX Chipboard title covered in "sparkly fluff"; Martha Stewart scallop & EK Success edge punches. The EK success edge is treaded with 'stash' ribbon; There are 4 handmade flowers  - 2 from swaps, 1 made by Jeanelle @ TLC crafts and the top left hand one (with the pearly heart centre) is made by me!  There are a few close-ups below too.I've also used Prima Vintage flowers; have also managed to combine a few other challenges at the same time, so I just know for certain this was 'meant to be' :)
Thanks so much for the challenges everyone! and Happy Mothers Day MUM, and to all the mums, grandmothers, aunts, and other special mums for tomorrow (Sunday May 8th)...TFL all xxxxx

5 FFC's (Five finally finished creations)..

Today I thought I'd upload the final 5 of my FFC's...all of my younger son Lee who will be 21 next month! OMG how time flies - and I wonder where it (time) flew to LOL... "Kindy Kid" & "Forever my little dreamer" were designed by my friend Jules and I started them at Friday night ISA classes;  the other 3: "buggsie", "nil by mouth" & "2Days old" were designed by my friend Geli and I started them at her home classes.  Luckily today was another public holiday in Queensland (Labour day) so I had a chance to get these up and hopefully into albums tonight... Although i do have other "UFC's on a shelf, I do need to clear my desk ready for this months challenges/commitments/projects "May with May" and "My Scraproom Rules" have a great week :)

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
