pure SunShine...

When I asked my friend Sarah what colour is her fave she answered “It’s hard to say on the fave colour, sometimes I say aqua blue and other days yellow like sunshine.  hehe so take your pick”  well Sarah, I’ve attempted to use your colours –  and it seems the title fits too J

The photo was taken on Sarah and Andrew’s wedding day on 20 February 2005 and since this fits challenge #18 “wedding photos with lace and butterflies” over at the Boxx this is what I’ve come up with.  I’ve based the title on one of this month’s Scrap that Song challenges “Sunshine On my shoulders” by John Denver, chosen by their talented creative team member Annette.
Ok, so you know by now that I love to combine challenges – so the two above as well as:
Other supplies:
Ok so that’s 5 challenges in 1 LayOut!!! I’ve loved creating this… do hope you have a great week ahead J  TFL, Mazz x

...sharing...

"Within the embrace of family, we discover the sharing of life's most precious legacy: love, be loved, listening, laughter, sadness & joy" (unknown)...

This photo is of my sister Carmel & her gorgeous family, taken in their back yard in Albany, New Zealand, just prior to attending a wedding.  I’m so in love with these Authentic pps that I had to scrap them again this month J  for the first Authentic Colour challenge. Here’s the palette for September:

I have “lifted” this LO (with permission from ScrapMatts) as it is their criteria for their challenge this month.  The original LO was created by Kerry Murray; of course her style is so inspirational and amazing!!  - If you would like to see what I totally aspire to - just go look at Kerry’s blog by clicking this link - this LO is so amazing I just had to try! Since I didn’t have that c/b fence, I’ve used a Tim Holtz die instead.
From ...sharing...

Other challenges I’m entering with this LO are:
v     The Boxx (fortnightly challenge) – leaves, the word ‘day’ and a bow of some sort)
v     Bird is the Word (current challenge word is SHARE)

Supplies used:
v     Pps: Authentic "Unique" , "Rare", "Gifted" and "Special"
v     Adhesives: Helmar (V2, 3D liquid glue dots, 450 quick dry and Super-Tac)
v     Chipboard: ScrapMatts (butterflies and flourish)
v     Pen : Sakura Jelly Roll to colour the butterflies (sky star blue)

v     Mist: water and perfect pearls mixture
v     Flowers & leaves: purchased at My2Angels and Mad About Scrapping

I do hope you’re having a lovely sunny sunshine day, as we are here in Beenleigh, SE Queensland. “Perfect day in paradise” as my DH quotes J TFL

Bloom Where You're Planted....

Bloom Where You're Planted
Today I thought I'd share with you about the little boy in this LO and the reason behind my title "Bloom where you're planted" first quoted by St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622).  This LO is another for my SIL's birthday album which I hope to be mailing this week. The little boy Christopher Davis, (Chris) is her talented son and my DH's nephew, who recently won the 2011 Sustainability award at the World of Wearable Arts in New Zealand, with his "Itchy Stitch" made up of 3000 (give or take a few) knitting needles.
Needless to say, Chris spent many, many hours designing and appending this amazing creation.    I first met Chris, around the same time as my DH in 1996, when Chris was age 6 yrs...He was a little 'collector' of bits and pieces, (like a lot of us OCD arty fartys LOL) hence all the wee embellishments.   Chris has always been interested in plants and is an exceptionally talented gardener...he's a walking dictionary when it comes to plant species and how to grow plants :)  About 2 years ago, when Chris was working as a landscape gardener in NZ, he had a devastating accident - permanently injuring his back...I understand Chris spent copious hours in doctors’ appointments and has undergone surgery at least twice, still waiting on the pain to disappear and be able to work in paid employment again.  However, in the hours alone at home, he spends time (when he’s not exercising or in too much pain) crafting ‘wearable arts’ and this is (among) his mind-blowing creations.   I think Chris has amazed us all, and is certainly ‘blooming where he is planted’ right now. Congratulations Chris and here’s all the luck and hugs for a speedy recovery xxx
I’ve submitted this Lo into the following challenges:
o       September 15th Show Us Your Stuff challenge (multi photos, stripes and hand made embellishments) - The little canvas wheels and the little Fimo worm are handmade.
o       Scrap The Boys September challenge (use household/family ephemera)The word “Yates” is from a plant seed packet, the mesh originally held 2kg oranges LOL. I’ve also used an old shoe lace, staples, old playing card, candle, rubber band, tooth pick, balloon, beer bottle top, (genuine) feather, and 1 and 2cent coins.
   Scrapbooking supplies used:
o       Papers & alphas: Echo Park (Little Boy)
o       Jo Sonja’s paint (Napthol Red Light)
o       Rachelle Minette’s Circle It stamps
o       Helmar adhesives (V2, Professional glue and 3D scrap dots)

I do hope you're all having a great week - HUGE hugsxxx Mazz xx

Scrapbooking My Life: New Sketch~Let's Scrap#links

I WAS thinking of havin a giveaway and/or challenge to that I could part with some of my 'extra' stash (mainly double ups) and to celebrate that I have posted over 200 times on my blog - however, I've now found a great place for this to go... its on its way to one of the NY flood affected victims who happens to be one of my 'long time' cyber scrapping buddies - Marie :) :).... if you'd like to add to my (I mean Marie's) stash, please contact me for my details and I will send it all together (that way, YOU get to save on postage too!!)) .. thanks a mil {hugs} Mazz xx

You're special...

and yet another LO for my SIL's birthday album :)  This one was created at a home class with my friend (please see my previous post) Geli. I specially like the design of the bow(right), so don't be surprised if you see that again in my Lo's !! Today is another perfect Spring day...a high of 28 is expected this afternoon and its just gorgeous outside on my patio. Although my sunflowers are starting to die off, the Kangaroo Paw (for the first time in our garden) is thriving! AND after a drought of no scrapping classes, due to other committments....tonight I'm off to ISA to create a LO designed by Julie Hill and tomorrow I'm off to "my home away from home" Scrapping Outback with Rachelle Minett and the other lovelies...Monday is the day I need to send away my SIL's pressie so I think I'm gonna be busy :)   Have a great w/e all TFLxx

Smile (celebrate a beautiful day of Spring)

This LO is another for my SIL’s 50th birthday. The photo is taken outside her home in Hillsborough, New Zealand, in September 2003.  Note my SIL and nephews’ amazing green fingers – their garden is amazing in Spring time – which is the theme over at Eye Candy Magic this month.  We’ve already experienced quite a few beautiful warm Spring days here in SE Queensland and there are exquisite flowers and plants popping up and out everywhere. I love this time of year here.  I’ve also created this LO for the September sketch challenge over at the Boxx and have loved assembling the flowers, roses, leaves, toadstools, heart and buttons.  I’m just really pleased with the way the colours have created the lovely Spring scene. The embellishments are part of the challenges over at Eye Candy Magic (Spring) and Purple Pumpkin’s (123) challenge.

Supplies used:
Echo Park (For The Record) Paper and stickers; green felt leaves and edge stamps (Prima); 2 paper doilies (top right white & bottom left blue); 3 buttons (Purple Pumpkin)   lollipop (Purple Pumpkin); Fimo toadstools & heart (Eye Candy Magic) Mist (water & perfect pearls mix); Helmar adhesives (Super-Tac Glue & 3d Scrap Dots); ink (Versa Color, sky blue)
Well that’s all for today…close-ups below, as usual :)

Love (Sandra & Glenn 1983)

A perfect spring Sunday - sun shining and wind nowhere near as chilling as yesterday. DH has taken off with his mistress (aka his toy woops! model LOL aircraft) so scrapping to be done!!! Ah yes, another LO created for my SIL’s 50th pressie J… This photo was taken in 1983 and I just love it.  I’ve entered this one in Scrapping Outback’s September sketch challenge, by Alicia Barry.
Alicia’s creations are so inspirational - and if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have found, HELMAR - the best adhesives I’ve ever used and once all my old products are finished, I will be replenishing with Helmar only.  Thanks so much Leish xxx

Products used:
Papers: MME (Stella and Rose "Remember"); Echo Park, Bazzill (Swiss dots) and doilies
Ink: Color Box Chalk (Yellow Ochre); Tim Holtz Distress (faded jeans);
Stickers: Ittakestwo.com (verse); Prima alphas (title) ; Crate Paper (Brooke collection)
Other: Tattered Angels GM (Juniper); Stamps (Pink Paislee); Punch (Martha Stewart); Pearl and organza ribbon, wire, pearl flourish and flowers from stash.

Well that’s all until next time…have a great week…Mazz xxx

(Family is the) Perfect Gift…that lasts forever

For this share, I’ve used the Scrapping Outback September 5 product Kit.  This LO is part of my SIL’s 50th birthday gift in a couple of weeks…another authentic B&W photo, which is great because it fitted well within these Anna Griffin papers.  Inspiration also came from “Stick with Helmar in September” sketch (with all those circles) and the “September Splash a bit of Paint Challenge” over at Mad About Scrappin’.

Supplies used:
Papers: Anna Griffin (Willow collection) and Bazzill card stock
Paint: Jo Sonja’s (Ultramarine Deep blue)
Title: A2Z Scraplets (Perfect)
Alphas: Rusty Pickle & Adornit Carolee’s Creations
Adhesives: HELMAR (3D Scrap dots, Super-Tac & 450 Quick Dry)
Other:  Ink (Versa Mark); Embossing Powder (Stamp-It Enamelware); Flower (Prima); blue staples; blue ribbon & white lace
Tools: Cuttle Bug and Nestabilities (circles & flower shapes)

As you can see there’s a lot going on in the scrappin’ world at the moment and what better way to get pages created than to match up photos with challenges – they certainly get my ‘mojo goin’!!! next up TBA LOL – hope you’re havin’ a great w/e ~ Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
