...bride...

If I wait for the perfect day to photograph this LO, I might be waiting a very long time...so deadline is midnight tonight for the A2Z sketch so here it is....my take on the challenge from my DH to create a 'matching' LO for (my handsome)  GROOM....using the A2Z chippie as a base for the fancy cut flowers, I'm also submitting for the challenge #23 over at the BoXx: 3 photos; stamping and paint; tag and/or journal block; twine and/or ribbon.
The journal block, albeit small, just has the date with the self-explanatory words ("Happiest Day Ever")...the title is stamped with some old stamps in my stash and embossed. The 'blobs' of white on the Crate pp are white paint.I've used a tiny piece of twine on the journal block and along the edge of the photos.

Those gorgeous metal flowers are from My2Angels.  The little gems in the middle of the bunch of flowers is actually an old earing I found in an op shop a while ago.
I really liked the colour match.

The white, clear and pearl flowers are from my stash 'picked up' along the way :)  I hope you're having a great week...hope you'll pop by again shortly, to catch up on all the LO's i've completed lately ... hope to be uploading by the 5th February..till then..."hugs'n'hearts" xxx Mazz xxx

BTW: if you're after some pps why not pop over to My2Angels...they currently have Up to 60% off all pattern papers but only until Valentines Day (excludes new arrivals)

(my handsome) GROOM…

  (aka Biggles)

I do believe the title speaks for itself…I’ve been wanting to scrap some more of our wedding pages, and have taken this opportunity by  entering the “SCRAPLIFT (aka copy LOL) challenge set by Rachelle Minett, scrapbooking ‘master’ and owner of Scrapping Outback.

Here’s the stunning LO that that we’ve been challenged to “Lift".

Naturally, I'm unable to copy exactly Rachelle's exquisite, talented stsyle.
I've used 'other peoples candid' shots from our wedding just over 10 years ago to take a crack at conveying the “Biggles Gets Married” theme wedding…

the feathers are supposed to mimic the handle-bar moustache DH grew for a year before the wedding and of course the chipboard airplane to imitate the 1932 de-Havilland Dragon bi-plane, which DH flew in.

Well, when I showed DH the finished LO, he just smiled at me challenged me to create on of the “bride” lol…I guess I will have to attempt that next…watch this space…J

Supplies used:  Pps & card stock –unknown; Mask, Distress stain and Glimmer mist – Tim Holtz; tissue flowers – A Lil’ Something; chipboard bi-plane – A2Z scraplets; coloured & felt leaves, branch – Prima; lace; feathers; hessian flowers – I made these in workshop with talented Tina J

I’m off to bed now, after a great weekend scrapping, gardening and last night’s 21st party for DS’s mates.   {huge hugs’n’hearts}   Mazz xxx

Little One

This LO is of my adorable little second cousin (i.e. my first cousin’s daughter), Eva, who I met for the first time last June when I was in NZ for DS's 21st…just so precious and beautiful.
I have created this for this month’s White with a Twist (pink and white) over at Scrapping Outback (SO) and is also my interpretation of Purple Pumpkin ‘s January sketch :

Supplies used:
Pps - Unknown; Chipboard - SO; ink – Tim Holtz Distress (Victorian velvet) and Marvy (cherry); Ute – Red pearl; Kinder glitz (pink); lace; Purple Pumpkin button; flowers - Charms Creations, my2angels and my fancy cuttingJ

I do hope you’re having a great weekend – I hope to have more to share soon...TFL {hugs’n’hearts} Mazz xx

"Row, row, row your boat"...

“Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Life is but a Dream"
 Ironically,
I was in bed most of Tuesday with a migraine, and believe it or not while I was ‘dreaming’ after taking my (prescription) drugs,  I was inspired to submit another LO over at Scrap That Song with this nursery rhyme. …now I guess you really are getting a clearer picture of my ‘warped’ sense of humour LOL…  I was also wondering how to design the LO, so I decided to use the sketch over at the Boxx for inspiration – here’s the original sketch

You will note that I’m not really into cropping my photos down into circles, so I have torn the pp and rolled it back. The photo is of my beautiful granddaughters during their boat holiday near Kawau Island last Summer. The photo is taped behind the pp.
You can also see more interpretations of the same sketch over at Mary and Geli’s blogs (just click on the names for the links)  . I’ve been trying really hard to use up ‘old’ pps and some of my stash, and these are what I have used:
Kaszazz pp, dies and flowers; Purple Pumpkin (mushroom) button; Creative Memories (Kiwi) stickers; Charms Creations lovely lollipop (sun); Eye Candy Magic crochet button; Scrapping Outback fabric remnants; Prima mask; Glimmer Mist; Websters (alpha) stickers; UNKNOWN sorry :( felt flowers…do you recognise them because I really would love to give you credit for the colours that match (IMHO) perfectly !!

I hope you’re all having a great week. I’m still job hunting, but the ‘vibes’ are better this week than last.  Hope to share something over the weekend {hearts’n’hugs} Mazz xx

little boy "Blue"

little boy Blue
Hi everyone…today I’ve been playing with just ONE layout, which I was inspired to create by SCRAP THAT SONG.  This month STS have challenged us to use a nursery rhyme. I decided to use “Little Boy Blue” as I’ve been meaning to scrap these photos for ages…The photos were taken on a day outing in Katoomba, NSW.

When DS was young, I never really understood why (Aussie) people would come up to him and say “gidday Blue” and I found out it was because of his gorgeous Red hair LOL.

Still wondering why, I asked the question on Face Book today and here are the 2 replies: “I think it's just an ironic/sarcastic thing .... just our mixed up Aussie humour :)” and “I was told it was because female red kangaroos are called blue because of their bluish grey colouring. So that is why redheads are called blue.”  Naturally I’ve decided I’ll go with the first explanation in my LO because it suits my (warped?) sense of humour he he.

Believe it or not I started off being inspired by Julie Hill’s Scrapping Outback sketch LOL

btw I’ve been re-assured by my FB friends, yet again, that I can sub this as is... even though the finished ‘creation’ doesn’t look anything like the original sketch, this is my interpretation !!

You’ll see I’ve distressed the Bo Bunny (Mama-Razzi Aperture range) pps and the photos and I’ve torn the pp. I’ve also added muslin in the ‘rolls’ to add a bit of interest.  The Cog Chipboard from WOW, from a RAK {now in Scrapping Outback shop} is inked, dry embossed and then embossed with 3 different embossing powders – as shared by the talented Scrap-diva Tina Connolly at last weekend’s retreat (Tina has also shared some impressive chippie techniques on her blog lately J ) For the white swirls I’ve pressed a very old Kaszazz stamp into some Rico artist moulding gel then lightly inked over it.

The little ‘family’ charm is from my2angels.

Personal laugh…Have just found this quite an ironic post, considering that the greenBlue” mountains are in Katoomba – where these pics were taken LOL.

Thanks for popping in today. have a great Sunday {HUGS}  Mazz xx

Triple Treat...

triple treat

With not much chance of procuring full time employment at this time of year, I thought I’d share THREE  “created whilst on holiday” LO’s  - created with one of Rachelle Minette’s Scrapping Outback kits.  Enclosed in the kit were Echo Park Apothecary Emporium collection pps, Bazzill cardstock, ribbons and lace; Prima flower flourish; black die cut, 2 doilies, small white flowers, 2 pieces of chipboard, pre-punched Martha Stewart butterflies and rickrack.  From my own stash, I only added: variety of coloured (larger) flowers, stamps, brads, c/b alphas, rub-ons, beige die cut, gel pen, photos, glue and staples.
Whilst I’ve “lifted” the designs from Rachelle’s DT examples, there were noinstructions so I must admit I’m pretty happy with the outcomes J

peek-a-boo
The first LO’s photo (peek-a-boo) of my granddaughter was taken by my DS last year. I just love the colours in Paige’s eye and blanket – matching orange and purple pps J

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where this is no path & leave a trail - Ralph Waldo Emmerson
The second LO photos (Do not go where the path may lead) were taken by my DH on the SkyWalk on Mt. Tambourine – the fig trees are just so awesome and that stream was just so serene and peaceful.:)

Remember life's treasures are PEOPLE not things.
The third LO (Remember life's treasures) photo of DH and I, was taken by my DS during our visit to NZ last September, obviously having a ‘deep and meaningful’ joke LOL

You’ll find quite a few Lo’s still to follow as I’ve been creating non-stop for the last couple of months – I haven’t finished uploading the LO’s from the Scrap Lounge ’12 days of Christmas’ competition as yet, plus class and retreat LO’s still to share. So…watch this space my lovelies xx Mazz xx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
