little boy "Blue"

little boy Blue
Hi everyone…today I’ve been playing with just ONE layout, which I was inspired to create by SCRAP THAT SONG.  This month STS have challenged us to use a nursery rhyme. I decided to use “Little Boy Blue” as I’ve been meaning to scrap these photos for ages…The photos were taken on a day outing in Katoomba, NSW.

When DS was young, I never really understood why (Aussie) people would come up to him and say “gidday Blue” and I found out it was because of his gorgeous Red hair LOL.

Still wondering why, I asked the question on Face Book today and here are the 2 replies: “I think it's just an ironic/sarcastic thing .... just our mixed up Aussie humour :)” and “I was told it was because female red kangaroos are called blue because of their bluish grey colouring. So that is why redheads are called blue.”  Naturally I’ve decided I’ll go with the first explanation in my LO because it suits my (warped?) sense of humour he he.

Believe it or not I started off being inspired by Julie Hill’s Scrapping Outback sketch LOL

btw I’ve been re-assured by my FB friends, yet again, that I can sub this as is... even though the finished ‘creation’ doesn’t look anything like the original sketch, this is my interpretation !!

You’ll see I’ve distressed the Bo Bunny (Mama-Razzi Aperture range) pps and the photos and I’ve torn the pp. I’ve also added muslin in the ‘rolls’ to add a bit of interest.  The Cog Chipboard from WOW, from a RAK {now in Scrapping Outback shop} is inked, dry embossed and then embossed with 3 different embossing powders – as shared by the talented Scrap-diva Tina Connolly at last weekend’s retreat (Tina has also shared some impressive chippie techniques on her blog lately J ) For the white swirls I’ve pressed a very old Kaszazz stamp into some Rico artist moulding gel then lightly inked over it.

The little ‘family’ charm is from my2angels.

Personal laugh…Have just found this quite an ironic post, considering that the greenBlue” mountains are in Katoomba – where these pics were taken LOL.

Thanks for popping in today. have a great Sunday {HUGS}  Mazz xx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
