"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" - Dr. Seuss...

... 6th March 1982...
...I've been wanting to create this LO of my "first wedding" for ages.  Naturally, I've tried to analyse this part of my life many times and in the end the only conclusion I can come up with is that "I was a (young) 19yo, in love with the idea of being married, kids and white picket fence - all part of the "journey to being me". The quote I've used is one of my faves, so no more dwelling - only forgiving.
I've taken up the May challenge over at Scrap Sanity   to lift Maria Featon’s amazing LO:-
LO by Maria Featon (click here for close-ups)
As you can see Maria's LO really is 'simply STUNNING.
I have attempted to keep some of the elements in the LO, including the (home-made with my Spellbinders die cuts) flowers and the gorgeous Twiddleybitz c/b(FRA010 Circle Journal Frame), that I was lucky enough to win from Scrap Sanity during their recent Cyber Crop :)
Incidentally, my Mum recently sent me a piece of the 'original gown' lace she had kept, and I've popped it just under the butterfly.
The current challenge word over at Bird Is The Word is "SMILE" I thought I'd also share my LO over there too.  You should pop over and visit the Bird Is The Word's latest post - the Guest's designs are absoloutley AMAZING!!! Naturally, my friend Sam I Am is a guest designer and I just have to give her EYE CANDY MAGIC a huge shout here too :)

hand made by Mazz with "Spellbinders die cuts"

Sassafras pp (Life is Beautiful – your lovely); Twiddleybitz c/b (FRA010 Circle Journal Frame); Reeves acrylic colour (gold); Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (antique bronze); Prima mask; Ranger liquid pearls (gold pearl); Prima, Petaloo, Kaiser and Sullivan’s flowers, leaves and butterfly; home-made flowers by Mazz; unknown gold alpha stickers (title); lace from the original wedding dress; Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive; My2Angels cream scroll felt heart; vellum; home printer.
Well, thanks so much for popping over today...its really starting to look and feel like 'winter' here in Brisbane...cold, frosty mornings and nights. Now its raining and dark at 10am - lookin' forward to having coffee and home-made muffins with my friend Sammi, might be a good day to 'sort out' my scrap room too friends

Christening...

G'day, here's another LO today for my book "all about me" over at the Boxx group :)

dreams come true...

Hi everyone, The photo on this LO is of my immediate family, taken at my parents' Golden weddinig anniversary -hence the use of 'gold' colours...to me its amazing to be married that long...
...50th Wedding Anniversary 2/9/61 - 2/9/11...
There was 1 great-grandson missing that night and there's been another grandaughter born since...I dare say the family is just getting bigger and better !!! You can see I've been playing with paint again, as well as microbeads and our new sewing machine :)
I've created this LO firstly to be included in my book "all about me" over at the Boxx group.
I've designed the LO using the Dusty Attic May sketch challenge – the only criteria is to use Dusty Attic products !!
I usually purchase my Dusty Attic chippies from Scrapping Outback here.
Also submitting for "Scrap Your Crap" challenge#65 - to use Chipboard :)
I've used supplies from One of the May Scrapping Outback’s DT kits – this one is by the infamously talented Alicia Barry – btw I managed to afford this by spending the BONUS dollars I received in April – just because I uploaded my Lay Outs into the SO April challenge gallery…you can receive up to $22 bonus dollars this month…just visit THIS LINK.
I made the flowers myself from the cardstockyahoo
Bazzill cardstock; Authentique (Genuine-“True”) pp; Dusty Attic chipboard (part of DA0547 Wrought Iron Trim set, title word dreams part of DA0386 Mini Words and DA0469 Fancy Trim set#3); sewing machine stitching; Jo Sonja’s paints (Ultramarine deep blue and Napthol red light); Reeves Acrylic colour (gold); Carl punch (butterfly); Nestabilities (yellow & blue flowers home made by Mazz); Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive; double sided foam tape; ribbon; stick pins; Stamp Effects Micro beads (metallic gold); Making Memories ink (gold);  Hero Arts embossing powder (clear); Watermark stamp pad (dazzle); Stamp-It Ancient Golds Embossing Powder (enchanted); Ranger liquid pearls (gold pearl); Artee Supplies embossing powder (gold); unknown alpha stickers; blue Tombow pen.
Thanks so much for poppin' over...please leave me a message to let me know you've been - coz that really makes me extra happy LOL   yahoo

WOW...one for the little....

...GIRL...
As you can see - I've been 'playing' (with texture) again...I was originally inspired by Scrap That Song's May theme of "mis-heard lyrics" - OM goodness...yep! the challenge is to scrap about a song that you thought you were singing the right words to, only to find out you were way off the mark LOL.
Well, that's a challenge alright...I honestly couldn’t think of anything, except a song that will, if truth be told, demonstrate my 'warped' sense of humour.
When I was young, after bathing, when mum was rubbing my hair dry - we used to sing "Baa Baa Black Sheep".  Just in case you need to be reminded of the words in the last line... "and one for the little boy  girl who lives down the drain oops I mean lane" ... Unsurprisingly that's also how I taught my sons the nursery rhyme too LMAO.
Hence the title of my LO of yours truly in the bath age 8mo.
I've based my LO design on the May sketch challenge over at Words Or Whatever (WOW)  and the only criteria was to use some WOW chipboard...
So I've used 2 3 pieces  of WOW :
 the leaves,
 the butterfly
and the negative of the curly flourish.
The curly flourish chippie really is very versatile and I used it here on my "Sparkle" LO.
I loved the negative so much I kept it specially for such an occasion. To get this effect I just used Impasto medium over the negative, waited till it dried then used my Versa Mark pen and heat embossed it all.:)
I've used 'orange' not only because its my favourite colour, but also to sub for the Scrapping Outback May Random Chipboard challenge - to scrap a (mostly) monocromatic LO.
I've kept to the A4 size because, naturally, this LO will be going into my "book of moi" (over on the Boxx)
Supplies used:  Cosmo Cricket (Coral Bloom “just keep swimming”) and Echo Park (Little Boy) pps; Words or Whatever {aka WOW} chipboard (part of C1098 New butterfly set , WOW1424 Fine Branch, negative of WOW478 Curly Flourish); Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive; A lil’ somethin’ (fabric) flower;   Versa Color ink (paprika) Hero Arts embossing powder (clear); Watermark stamp pad (dazzle) unknown embossing Powder (orange); Ranger liquid pearls (cantaloupe); Rusty Pickle (orange) and Bo Bunny (Vicki B) Alpha stickers; white signo gel pen; National Art Materials Gesso Primer (white); Rico Design artist gel; Derivan Matisse Impasto medium 2; Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists (heirloom gold); orange tissue paper; orange paper doily.
Thanks so much for popping over today, please leave a comment and let me know you were here.
I hope you're all  having a fanatastic week {hearts'n'hugs}

Sweet...

Gidday all...today the LO I'm sharing is different to the ones you would usually see from me...and even though I was totally out of my comfort zone, I had heaps of fun playing with it.
MTC age 6 months

Its smaller than usual (11x8.5") and there's heaps of white space which is one of the criteria for The Boxx’s Fortnightly challenge: 9 May to 22 Mayset by DT member Leanne Allinson.  The remaining criteria is : Paint, Four (4) different patterned paper manufacturers, Multiple photos, Finally a banner for which I’ve literally used scraps of ribbons in the 4 colours (down left hand side).

I'm also adding this LO to my "book of me" for the Group “all about me”– over at the Boxx – that's not technically challenge – its something I’ve always been meaning to do...and since I have a 'big' birthday this year, I think this is as good a time as any :)
I'm also submitting this challenge for Scrapping Outback’s May sketch challenge – set by DT member Tina Connolly. BTW If  you get a chance you should pop over to the SO gallery and see the AMAZING LO's created by the talented Scrapping Outback Design Team members
AND thirdly: the TwiddleyBitz May colour challenge (beautiful soft colours of pink, light green, white and yellow) from Design Seeds

Criteria: Inspiration from the colour palette, TWIDDLEYBITZ CHIPBOARD and use the word SWEET somewhere on your project.  I've used these because I was really lucky to win the title Sweet, butterfly and flower from Scrap Sanity for my entry in their last CyberCrop "Creative Colour Spectacular - Challenge 3".
I think the reason I got so messy was because of the paint and gesso - the patterns are a result of the prima mask I imprinted in the gesso while it was still wet LOL
Supplies:
Bo Bunny (country garden), Fancy Pants (about a girl), Cosmo Cricket (salt air), Rusty Pickle (pirate princess) and K & Company edge cut-out; My2angels Silver Pink Rose Charming Chain and baby shoe charm; Prima floral mask; Rico Design artist molding gel; TWIDDLEYBITZ CHIPBOARD (Sweet title, flower and butterfly); Charms Creations lollipop, Helmar adhesives, Kindy glitz (pink and crystalina); Rusty Pickle pink button; Ranger liquid pearls (white opal); miscellaneous scraps of pp, ribbon, lace and raffia; green staples.
Well that's another Tuesday over ! I went for a 3rd interview for a job today...I haven't heard whether I got it yet but I've been quite hopefull since its down to the last 2..so my fingers are crossed for this one. I really would love to be part of their team :)  So, until next time. happy scrapping...{Hearts 'n' hugs} Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
