'Summer Backyard Adventures' and 'Party Time'

Summertime Backyard Adventures
Hi there all,

As promised here are the last 2 LO's crated for the Scrapbook Savvy Cyber Crop last weekend. Crossing my fingers that this will be in time?

Summer Backyard Adventures

First I'd like to share the background before I completed the 'multi-medium' and texture parts lol:
This 'word' challenge (hence the word "Summer") was set by Savvy DT Karen, and another of my 'old' photos. This one is my 2 adorable DS's back in the Summer of '91, they were 1yo - riding on his 'BMW car'  and 8yo - 'show casing' what I think was a new bike!

I actually thought about cropping the picture so you get close-ups, but decided not to as it would  spoil the authenticity of the 'outdoor loo' and the 'cracked footpath'.  As a matter of interest - the house we were renting ( in Selems Parade, Revesby) was demolished and replaced by shops a couple of years later. The great thing about that (big) back yard was it was flat and always sunny!

Supplies used:

Best Creations pps (Robot); Twiddleybitz Chipboard (Steam Punk Cog Frame SPK012 & Fern and Flourish Border BOR0020); Gesso; Twiddleybitz and The Crafter's Workshop stencils; Washi tapes; wool; Rainbow Splendour felt chevron; my2angels star felt, ribbons and bicycle charm; 7 Gypsies stickers; Viva Inka-Gold (Cobaltblue); plasterer's mesh; Simple Stories acetate; Yellow Daisy, Puerto Rico & Turquoise blue Glimmer Mists; Glossy Accents; Purple Pumpkin bicycle button; 450 Quick Dry glue & foam tape.

Party Time

This is the final set of 'old' photos for today....Talented Savvy DT- Sar set this colour challenge, with the 'party' theme (Criteria to use 4 out of the 5 colours: teal √, orange √, green √, yellow √, brown √...

I also decided to join in the sketch challenge set by the lovely Heidi Williams - over at the Scrapbooking Club, Brisbane.

You'll see I've turned the sketch and used 3 photos - the photos show some more of my sons' cousins, at the younger son's 2nd birthday party.

Supplies used:

Kaiser (Devonshire Collection) & Sassafras (Ellie's tale) pps; A Lil' Somethin' banner; green & orange lace; Martha Stewart edge punch; Claudine Hellmuth stencil; Rainbow Splendour pinwheel; my2angels charms; double sided tape; 450 quick dry adhesives; Twiddleybitz Chipboard (WOR058A); Versa Color ink (311 antique).

Thanks for popping over everyone! Hopefully I'll get "some" time to create over the next weeks. In case you aren't aware I've decided to take the opportunity to follow one of my dreams and become a 'poor' student! I'm going to study and be volunteer (hopefully paid eventually lol) Teacher's Assistant.

Homework and study will obviously be a 'time' priority for a while, but I should still be able to participate in my regular embellishment and ATC swaps, as well as continue with my photography and other paper art *** all fingers crossed ***  Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement... hugs 'n' hearts always xxx Mazz xxx

Change of name & Swap tags

Gidday all

For those of you who may have noticed the 'change of name' of my blog... I've become serious in my photography hobby - hence the name and the 'business card' on the side of my blog.  Practice and learning will most likely take me 'for ever', however, I'm hoping to combine my love of photography with my love of scrapbooking and paper art.... so without further ado....

...As promised in my last post I've finished and sharing my 'nautical' theme tags for a swap group (yay!)
Now I'm working on some ATC's for the Ideal ATC Swap Group. If you'd like to join in, please follow the instructions in this LINK - you can register to join until 1st February!!  I'm so looking forward to seeing what other wonderful creations the talented group comes up with :)

Supplies used for my tags:
Large Manilla Tags (my2angels); Scrap Sanity cardstock; vellum; Memento ink (Danube blue); Versa Color ink (Smoke blue) and Brilliance Ink (Peacock); double sided tape; Stamps from Kylie is Addicted to Stamps.

hopefully will get at least 1 LO finished this long weekend (Australia Day public holiday on Monday)...so until we meet again... hugs 'n' hearts xxx Mazz xxx

Meeting Georgia....HAPPY NEW YEAR

Gidday all....well I'm back ...HAPPY 2014 to one and all! Please be patient with me...I'm trying to get more scrapping done that I have been but there seems to be quite a bit happening, including getting my CV together to begin job hunting (again)...I have to admit I need to work to enjoy my hobbies - including photography that I've started to get more serious with lately.

First up I couldn't wait to add these photos to a LO because Georgia is a Scrapbooking Master and it was such a privilege to have 'cropped' with her when we met IRL for a couple of hours when I was on holiday in Tasmania, at the end of last year. WOW...and Georgia is certainly more beautiful as expected, and much more...amazing!   I've created my first LO for 2014 for Scrapping Outback's first sketch challenge for 2014, provided by the talented Emma at Page Drafts:

The only criteria for SO's sketch is to use some SO chipboard on the LO... that's not difficult since SO have such a huge and versatile range of chippies ;)
I've used the Twiddleybitz 'small swirls overlay' chippie for the bottom circle element in the sketch.

It was a such 'whirlwind' trip around Tassie that we were pretty tired by the time we arrived home. We were in our mobile home, did high miles and saw a lot of the beautiful native scenery and wildlife, including the Tasmanian Devils and Fairy penguins. We also spotted an Echidna and Wombat at various times on our travels, so it was certainly worth it and hopefully we'll get back there 'one day' for a more relaxing, longer time.

Well, that's it for me today, I'm working on tags and ATC's for swaps at the moment, so hopefully will be able to share those soon.

Till next time.... hugs 'n' hearts xxx Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
