life key - Dad - White with 1 challenge Oct 2016

"those who bring SUNSHINE into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves" - James Matthew Barrie
When I first saw October's White With 1 challenge colour is Cayenne - I immediately thought of the colour for fire! I also immediately knew the photo I would add - this photo of my dad was taken in 2014 (courtesy of Auckland District Fire Brigades Sub Assn)  who is an ex volunteer fireman.

Its not an easy task to create background texture looking like flames mind you!!
I've used a technique I learned recently from an old book:
the transparent flames in the top left corner is simply cayenne ink and clear embossing powder - which I built up using a transparency and heat gun while trying not to cause a fire lol)
Supplies:
Scrapping Outback Cardstock (white),
Cayenne colour is a mix of versa colour ink (scarlet) and Chroma Tones colouring system (candy corn), The Crafters Workshop stencil (mini flames TCW258), Dina Wakely for Ranger - plastic canvas stencil (small white squares), Ranger Adirondack Acrylic paint dabber (snow cap), Couture Creations double sided tape, Stampin' Up sticker (stamp),
my2angels charms (key & arrows), Stampendous embossing enamel (aged white),
Little Birdie vintage elements, Colour Blast shimmer spray (fire engine)
other: black gel pen, Helmar adhesives, clear Utee, builder's mesh, surgical gauze, Gesso, Texture Paste.

and the finished result:
life key - Dad - volunteer ex fire fighter
Thanks for looking and until next time... hugs and hearts xxx Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
