“Those who bring SUNSHINE into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves” James M Barrie
Hi everyone,
I’m pleased to say that I finished all my Tafe assessments last Friday and decided that I’d like to participate in a challenge this month! Yay, just for a change!  Why is this year flying by?

I’ve created this LO for the Black with Two March challengeBw2 is a beautiful blog full of inspiration and colour, run by the lovely naturally talented EVE who is (and I quote lol) a  “self confessed scrapaholic lol” – a lady after my own heart I feel J AND she is also one of my DT colleagues over at ‘this one’s a winner’.

For Black with 2 monthly challenges, you are given a “mood board” with 1 word (Sunshine), 1 sketch plus a 2 colour palette (lemon & thyme) to create on a black background.

The photo is of (one of) my maternal great grandmothers, Ellen Blandford. (My mother’s-father’s-mother). I hope to create a LO of my other maternal great grandma in due course.

For those of you who didn’t see my post in Face Book over the weekend, the page started like this…and no I really didn’t want to cover it up lol…Alas! That was just the starting point of the sketch - depicting the circle.

Supplies used:

Yippee, Ye HAW! I’m now on (Tafe) vacation for (nearly) a month so I’m hoping to get a few ‘projects’ finished in the near future. You may have noticed in my side-bar that my “MAZZ’s MAGIC Shots” photos are now uploaded in my Flickr account – I’m considering that as a ‘start’ as well.   SO...Until next time…take care all, and please say hi if you’ve been to visit here.

SWAPS for February 2014

"Swaps Feb14"
G'day creative lovelies...
Today I'm sharing 4 swaps at once. As I've previous mentioned, due to my study commitments this year, my time management stills are certainly being tested!!!
First up : ATC's for the Ideal ATC Swap Group.
The theme is Frame It - being free to interpret this criteria anyway you like but the ATC must frame something on the ATC.  Here's my take:

Supplies used:
Ranger ATC's; Washi tape; Viva Inka-gold; clock & script stamps; black netting; c/b clock hands; Tim Holtz Metalz Framez.
Next up: "anything at all"  over at Scrap Sanity's Valentine's swap:

Supplies used:
Tim Holtz Kraft cardstock;  Die cut from Kylie; Stampendous embellishment powder; metal butterfly wings for the belt from the Trinket Track.

Next up: Vintage tag swap for Brisbane Scrapbooking club : " must be some lace on the tag" and the tag I made for the lovely Heidi Williams:
Supplies used:
Inkssentials Tag; Stampendous aged embossing powder;  Kaszazz script stamp; lace; Bits 'n' Pieces flair button; TLC Crafts, Prima & my2angels' flowers; Eiffel Tower die cut; my2angels Paris Charm, ribbon, Viva D├ęcor Ferro.
Last, but certainly no means least my embellishment swap. Heidi Williams set the February criteria  as "metal and male" . With the kind assistance of my friend Tracy, this is what I made for  the 6 lovelies:
Supplies used:
Black Bazzil pp; Stampendous embossing powder; cog stamp; cog charms; Viva Inka-gold, key ring.

Well, I've now run out of time....I do hope you all have a wonderful week ahead...believe it or not next week is March (can't believe where the first 2 months have gone already!!!)

Hugs 'n' hearts  xxx Mazz xxx
BTW : If you're looking for a REAL BARGAIN in scrappy stuff....Please hope over to "Mazz's Stash Sale" on Facebook, (here: I'm attempting to de-clutter as well as get a few cents together so I can buy some more stash LOL.

'Summer Backyard Adventures' and 'Party Time'

Summertime Backyard Adventures
Hi there all,

As promised here are the last 2 LO's crated for the Scrapbook Savvy Cyber Crop last weekend. Crossing my fingers that this will be in time?

Summer Backyard Adventures

First I'd like to share the background before I completed the 'multi-medium' and texture parts lol:
This 'word' challenge (hence the word "Summer") was set by Savvy DT Karen, and another of my 'old' photos. This one is my 2 adorable DS's back in the Summer of '91, they were 1yo - riding on his 'BMW car'  and 8yo - 'show casing' what I think was a new bike!

I actually thought about cropping the picture so you get close-ups, but decided not to as it would  spoil the authenticity of the 'outdoor loo' and the 'cracked footpath'.  As a matter of interest - the house we were renting ( in Selems Parade, Revesby) was demolished and replaced by shops a couple of years later. The great thing about that (big) back yard was it was flat and always sunny!

Supplies used:

Best Creations pps (Robot); Twiddleybitz Chipboard (Steam Punk Cog Frame SPK012 & Fern and Flourish Border BOR0020); Gesso; Twiddleybitz and The Crafter's Workshop stencils; Washi tapes; wool; Rainbow Splendour felt chevron; my2angels star felt, ribbons and bicycle charm; 7 Gypsies stickers; Viva Inka-Gold (Cobaltblue); plasterer's mesh; Simple Stories acetate; Yellow Daisy, Puerto Rico & Turquoise blue Glimmer Mists; Glossy Accents; Purple Pumpkin bicycle button; 450 Quick Dry glue & foam tape.

Party Time

This is the final set of 'old' photos for today....Talented Savvy DT- Sar set this colour challenge, with the 'party' theme (Criteria to use 4 out of the 5 colours: teal √, orange √, green √, yellow √, brown √...

I also decided to join in the sketch challenge set by the lovely Heidi Williams - over at the Scrapbooking Club, Brisbane.
You'll see I've turned the sketch and used 3 photos - the photos show some more of my sons' cousins, at the younger son's 2nd birthday party.

Supplies used:

Kaiser (Devonshire Collection) & Sassafras (Ellie's tale) pps; A Lil' Somethin' banner; green & orange lace; Martha Stewart edge punch; Claudine Hellmuth stencil; Rainbow Splendour pinwheel; my2angels charms; double sided tape; 450 quick dry adhesives; Twiddleybitz Chipboard (WOR058A); Versa Color ink (311 antique).

Thanks for popping over everyone! Hopefully I'll get "some" time to create over the next weeks. In case you aren't aware I've decided to take the opportunity to follow one of my dreams and become a 'poor' student! I'm going to study and be volunteer (hopefully paid eventually lol) Teacher's Assistant.

Homework and study will obviously be a 'time' priority for a while, but I should still be able to participate in my regular embellishment and ATC swaps, as well as continue with my photography and other paper art *** all fingers crossed ***  Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement... hugs 'n' hearts always xxx Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
