(my) family 1965

family 1965

Last week I was privileged and totally honoured to meet one of my long-time (cyber) scrap idols, Alicia Barry IRL! I was invited by another friend to a class at a LSS and Leish just happened to be the ‘teacher’ LOL.  I was awe-struck! and listened intently to some of her ‘secrets’ which she said were the ‘rules’ of scrapbooking – eg ‘rule of two-thirds’ and the ‘visual triangle’.  I was laughing at the irony as I had started this LO based on her sketch  for the monthly challenge over at Scrapping Outback and realised that I had ‘broken’ the rules already LMAO.  Oh well, the most important part of this, and any LO, is actually the photo and the memories behind it. So I’m still quite happy with the way it’s turned out. Anyways you should defiantly pop over to Leish’s blog and see her amazing work at some time when you get the chance. The photo in this LO is of my wee family, taken in Oct. 1965. Yes that's me on the little red trycicle :)  and the 'wee' family eventually became 9 !!  I've used the "Wish Upon" Kaiser pps; the c/b is from A-Z scraplets. the little girl in frame embellie is made out of a gold frame that I've sanded back and added Tim Holtz distressing powder and Ranger crackle. The little image is from Sasafarass. I'm also submitting this LO for the colour palette challenge (colours to the right) over at Mad About Scrappin’ and the Southern Girls Challengebring out your inner child’. thanks for the challenges, TFL all and have a great week ahead – Mazz xxx
ps Alicia is even more gorgeous and lively IRL as I had imagined while in cyber space LOL

Love the softness of your layout Mazz and all the detail and how precious is that pic. Sounds like you had a wonderful time, the great thing about our hobby is all the beautiful people we get to meet both on the net and if we are lucky IRL

Cheers

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
