Dream BIG Shyla xxx

Gidday all, today I'm sharing my LO created for the Scrapping Outback December White with a Twist challenge...for those of you who know me well, you will already be aware that ORANGE is my favourite colour - because of the symbolism of compassion - and that's why I was so happy to use these colours for the challenge.
The beautiful young lady in the LO is my younger grand daughter and although it's a black & white photo it actually matches her own 'orange' hair.
I designed the colour patterns and splashes of bling as representation of Shyla's vivacious personality to boot. I simply covered the clear bling with coloured 'sharpie' pens to match the Lindy's Stamp Gang mists.
Update 1/12/14...Shyla is in hospital in Auckland with an infection in her foot. This is the 3rd or 4th infection and time she's had to have an anti-biotic drip in hospital in the last year.
She's the bravest little girl and we're all wishing her the best and praying for her speedy recovery  Nana x

Here's this month's inspirational prompt and the criteria is the usual:
"You must use WHITE combined with the colours above. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture."

Dorrigo Rain Forest 3 canvases

Scrapping Outback's November 2014 white with a twist challenge

Hi all, happy November!!!

My apologies for this late post – I’m pretty full-on atm with study, work (both paid and unpaid).
When mulling over what to create for November’s ‘white with a twist’ challenge for Scrapping Outback DT,  I decided to ‘play’ with the triple canvases because I wanted to be thinking about places that I feel ‘happy’... I’m delighted with the results since now dlh and I have a ‘little piece of our paradise’ in our lounge room every day :)
FYI I’ve used the Manor House black oval frames as flourishes under the clusters and the little wooden animal embellishments are actually wine glass charms from a souvenir shop called The Woodcraft Gallery :)
Supplies used:
3x 8”x8” stretched canvases

Tissues (yes this all started with tissues!!!)
Modge Podge
Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso & multi-medium (matte)
MonteMarte modelling paste
The Crafter’s Workshop Masks

Distress crackle paint (broken china) & distress stain (frayed burlap)

 7 Dots Studio paper (Dreamer collection city lights); Petaloo faux dried berry clusters; Manor House Creations flowers & black oval frames; Washi Tapes ; Texture edges stamp;
Perfect Pearls Mists (blue raspberry); Bo Bunny (Gabrielle alphas & Country Garden pps);
oh! I nearly forgot to add the WHOLE pic - saved the best for last LOL

Thanks for popping over today...I do hope you have a great w/e and happy November...now onto the assessments at hand LOL

Cherish

I created this LO for October’s ‘white with a twist’ challenge over at Scrapping Outback.
The challenge is to create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in the field of flowers (above) and you MUST use at least 1 piece of chipboard.

You must use WHITE combined with the colours in the picture. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture.
You can use anything to create these colours like mists, inks or paints.

You can use a small amount of black/brown just for a little stamping, inking, journaling or just as a small accessory; however it is NOT to be the main focus of your layout.
You can use as little or a lot of each colour, but every colour or shade of that colour in the picture MUST be used. You can use varied shades of the colours - it depends on the inspiration that you get from the picture.

The photo was taken while celebrating my late Mother-In-Law’s 80th birthday at Valentine’s Buffet Restaurant.  I chose the photo because of the colour of her blouse – she had proudly chosen and bought it for her special day :)

My main tip for this LO is that if you don’t have ‘quite the right’ colour in your stash – you can always change it :) :) :)  I’ve used white cardstock and painted it – the base background was too ‘in my face’ to start with so I just lightly wiped some white gesso over it. The Manor house white frame was white and I’ve painted it :)
SO... here is my full interpretation of the white with a twist challenge:

Supplies used:
SO White cardstock
Kaiser template (Lattice)
Kaiser wooden word (cherish)
Words or Whatever (WOW) Alyssa Flourish
Ranger Distress Paint (peeled paint, pickled raspberry and seedless preserves)
Manor House Creations Wood-heart-Mail
Manor House Creations ornate frame (circular) white
Homemade and Prima Marketing flowers
White Rose Ribbon
Green Tara velvet leaves (white)
Spotlight fibre
Adirondack Acrylic Paint dabbers (pink sorbet and citrus)
Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive
my2angels aluminium flower beads (centres of flowers)
my2angels teapot stick pin

The Smile says it all

With one good friend I have shared a thousand silly giggles (Patrick Regan)
Hi all, thanks for visiting…I created this LO because the lovely Heidi said she’d enter the Scrapping Outback ‘September White with a Twist” challenge if I entered her Sketchy BoardsSeptember sketch & mood board’ challenge here:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sketchy-Boards-Challenge/288160934691295
Naturally I had to scrap these photos that make me giggle every time I look at them :)

These two blokes (Ian “Biggles” my Dlh and his mate Al “Scottie”) are so “PLANE” mad they make such silly jokes and of course that t-shirt you see “Old Fokker” is no different LOL.

In case you haven’t already figured a Fokker is a Dutch Aircraft manufacturer.

Ian bought the t-shit at Classic Fighters Airshow in Omaka (NZ) when we went last year. Naturally nearly every time he wears it, jokes are imminent.

Thanks so much for visiting - please don't forget you still have time to enter Scrapping Outback's September blog challenge :)

Supplies used:

O’scrap Thoughts on the border™ sticker (friendship)

Imaginisce Postage Stamps

Versa Mark and VersaColor inks (black and pinecone)
Black Utee

Homemade texture paste
Pilot Permaball pen

Thanks for the challenge - such a fun LO with great sketch and colours xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
