LIVING on the EDGE - In Loving Memory of Josh Dare R.I.P. 01/09/1992 - 11/03/2016

Living on the Edge
Good evening,

I regret this post is not for a challenge or a DT inspiration. We had a very sad experience just over 2 months ago, as you can probably see from the title, and it's taken a while for me to actually post this ...
Joshua (Ranga) Dare...our very good friends' son was tragically killed in a car crash on 11th March 2016.  Friends and family were asked to provide 'memorabilia' in the form of photos, letters of reflection and private messages. The family really wanted to know how Josh affected our lives and this LO is my way of expressing my love for Josh - as well as our friends Dawn, Ray and John who have lost a beautiful son and brother.
Personally, it was 'love at first sight' when I first met Josh - the red head - just like my oldest son! When my son Robin was small people in NSW called him "Blue" and to this day I don't really understand why - someone once said it was because the 'red' kangaroo looks blue.

Ironically in the new Australian Dictionary Ranga means 'red head' and in Maori (New Zealand) language it means 'inspirational'.
Josh came round to our house on a regular basis when he was about 15yo - to go mountain biking with my husband. (and Ian's written something privately about that).  I always found Josh to be polite and honest.  Josh was a typical teenager - just like my older son - very independent, with a mind of his own (isn’t that all boys?) and yes he did get himself into trouble!!! LOL
23yo is just far too young to die... Josh had loads of potential, even if it wasn't obvious to all. But mostly Josh was adored by his parents - Dawnie and Ray and older brother John.
My heart is heavy because you guys didn’t deserve this.... I DO understand that no matter how much your kin disappoints you or misbehaves in anyway, you love them deeply anyway. I'm just so sorry this has happened to you, BUT Josh hasn't gone forever, he's just moved on, he's been granted wings so he can fly now, he can get there much faster than his feet or bike or skateboard!!!   Please know we love and care for you all always,

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
