Bloom Where You're Planted |
Needless to say, Chris spent many, many hours designing and appending this amazing creation. I first met Chris, around the same time as my DH in 1996, when Chris was age 6 yrs...He was a little 'collector' of bits and pieces, (like a lot of us OCD arty fartys LOL) hence all the wee embellishments. Chris has always been interested in plants and is an exceptionally talented gardener...he's a walking dictionary when it comes to plant species and how to grow plants :) About 2 years ago, when Chris was working as a landscape gardener in NZ, he had a devastating accident - permanently injuring his back...I understand Chris spent copious hours in doctors’ appointments and has undergone surgery at least twice, still waiting on the pain to disappear and be able to work in paid employment again. However, in the hours alone at home, he spends time (when he’s not exercising or in too much pain) crafting ‘wearable arts’ and this is (among) his mind-blowing creations. I think Chris has amazed us all, and is certainly ‘blooming where he is planted’ right now. Congratulations Chris and here’s all the luck and hugs for a speedy recovery xxx
I’ve submitted this Lo into the following challenges:
o September 15th Show Us Your Stuff challenge (multi photos, stripes and hand made embellishments) - The little canvas wheels and the little Fimo worm are handmade.
o Scrap The Boys September challenge (use household/family ephemera)The word “Yates” is from a plant seed packet, the mesh originally held 2kg oranges LOL. I’ve also used an old shoe lace, staples, old playing card, candle, rubber band, tooth pick, balloon, beer bottle top, (genuine) feather, and 1 and 2cent coins.
Scrapbooking supplies used:
o Papers & alphas: Echo Park (Little Boy)
o Jo Sonja’s paint (Napthol Red Light)
o Rachelle Minette’s Circle It stamps
o Helmar adhesives (V2, Professional glue and 3D scrap dots)
