...are like mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future" Gail Lumet Buckley |
...Yesterday I thought I'd try something just a little bit different...(took overnight to dry !)
When I'd decided to scrap this photo (Cotter kids, circa 1971) I really wanted to focus not only on my sibblings but also the background in my parents' front yard...the wired fence and the new housing subdivision sure brought back memories !
For the yellow/gold base I've used some chicken wire and Plaid demensional fabric paint (for a mask) that I'd been wanting to try for ages and I'm really pleased with the textured background its created :)
Utilising the Anna's Craft Cupboard March sketch challenge,
I'm submitting this for two additional challenges -
The Box's Scrapper's challenge - #25 set by Danielle: use Autumn colours (I've found this palette: http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/152637/Another_autumn_one), something wooden, bling, fabric or ribbon and either poem or quote.
AND
Scrapping Outback's random monthly chipboard challenge - set by Kim: use yellow as the dominant colour, two or more pps, two or more additional colours, string (woops I've used chain instead lol) and at least one piece of chipboard.
I've used the gorgeous Kutalicious mirror birds to look at the people in the photo, and the mirrored photo corners as arrows. I'm not certain whose chippie that heart is, but its one that I decorated in a workshop with talented Tina Connolly at the Greenbank Scrapbook shop retreat in January.
Supplies:
DCWV pps; Kaiser card c/s, alphas and wooden bird cage; Kutalicious mirrored birds & mini corners; Bits & Pieces by Marg fabric flower; pink flower unknown; Eye Candy Magic 'Kiwi' button; Scrapware frame c/b; old bracelet gold chain; Tim Holtz distress crackle paint (aged mahogany); Plaid dimensional fabric paint (pure gold metallic); Adornit alphas; Helmar scrap dots and 450 quick dry ahesives.
Thank you for popping over - have a great week ahead...only 12 more sleeps till Easter (hugs) Mazz xxx
