I just adore this photo of my baby sister and her partner, so I had to create this LO and extra special one.
After all the inspiration from Twiddleybitz and seeing some of the awesome examples on their blog I decided to try a LO (TW-OV001) with one of their overlays. I picked this one because I thought it was the most feminine and I really wanted it to co-ordinate with this goegeous Kaiser (Secret Admirer) collection, that I've had stashed away:)
I certainly wasn't happy with the overlay after the first coat of paint - it didn't look antique enough for the photo.lol. I started off by masking the plainish pp with Mustard Seed glimmer mist and circles in the punchinella stencil.
To achieve the end result took simply ages - due to drying times.
On top of the Tim Holtz distress paint (antique linen) I've also used a coat of Ranger crackle gel, Plaid texture magic/paste then to pick-up the 'blue' I've used embossing ink and Stampendous aged copper embossing powder.
By the way that's the same embossing powder I used on my last tutorial/LO which was extremely masculine - just goes to show how versatile this embossing powder is :) I've used the same embossing powder on the Twiddleybitz c/b alpha title.
I really love this LO, I feel relieved that it all came together and I have loved the process of adding all the mediums, the layering of the Kaiser collectables, as well as the old crochet doily and very pink florist mesh and papers, that I have managed to tone together with theTim Holtz Distress Stain (tarnished brass) and the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (coffee shop & mustard seed).
You might also notice a few additional pieces of 'stash' that I've utilized, including the Twiddley heart mirror, eiffle towel die and tag, creamy latte sugar beads and my2angels charming word (memories). To ensure the glimmer mist stayed on the charm I've first added a 'finger' of Claudine Hellmuth matte medium. Another hugely versatile product from my2angels :)
The bottom right hand layered cluster is made up of collectables and fussy cutting.
Thanks so much for looking today. till next time... take care....hugs'n'hearts...Mazz xxx
