Pincusion Protea

Pincusion Protea
When I was deciding on which challenges I would attempt this month, I was humming and harring because of the huge committment with Scrapping Outback's MSR that started last Monday (16th May). I will post my LO in the future, but in the meantime please feel free to go and peek in the gallery at SO.
For a while now, I've been on the outlook for inspiration to create something a little different, because there being so many amazing and what I tend to call "not me" techniques and ways of presenting layouts.  As a result I have come up with this LO...using my favourite colour (if you dont know me well, my fave colour of all time is ORANGE!!) purple pumpkin (orange & white spotted) button, gel medium and white gesso for texture :) Also, the fortnightly challenge over at the Boxx is to use 'non people' photos, which I have to admit is so 'not me' (mmmm, that's why they call it a challenge !!!) so I'm quite delighted with the result! please feel free to leave constructive critisism in the comments as I honestly want to learn from my mistakes!!

I've submitted this LO for the following challenges:
  1. The BOXX (no people photos)
  2. White With One (white + orange + scallops)
  3. Southern Girls Challenge (frills of lace and polish of pearls)
  4. Purple Pumpkin May sketch challenge (using a Purple Pumpkin button)
Have a great week everyone & TFL xxx p.s. I took the photo of the beautiful orange flower in January 2009 in the Bay of Islands in NZ. Thanks to my gorgeous cyber friend Louise Forsyth who informed me of the name of it and inspired me with the LO title :)

If you ever go to the Bay of Islands again, let me know! I am half way between there and Auckland! I love your LO! It is cool that it is different. I find it hard to make myself do non-people LOs too! Sue (SGC) :)

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
