fAmILy HOLIDAY

This photo is of my beloved SIL & family who came for a family holiday.
AND – luckily the colours in the Scrapfriends March #11 colour palette challenge are the colours in this paper trunk (Socialite Gala) pp/cardstock received as part of the March kit from Scrap Elegance.
I’ve joined the Purple Pumpkin March sketch challenge:
and used a yellow dot button at the top right (under the sun charm) as well as 3 cute bee PP buttons, nested among the lovely my2angels cream flowers.
The title is Twiddleybitz alpha square chipboard covered with Zing embossing powder. I cut out the tag and the banner triangles using glossy accents for strength and dimension.
The rest of the title (HOLIDAY) is prima fabric alphas.
For the background I’ve used glimmer mist and a gorgeous stencil.
I do hope you’re all having a great week….is it Friday yet? LOL

SUMMER picnic

"second cousins Carol, Alan & Noel - Rotorua, Dec.2011"
Going ‘back’ to my old ways…I’ve joined 3 challenges into this 1 layout. Fist up here's the Scrapfriends’March sketch challenge, that my cyber pal Lizzy H recommended:
Secondly, the March theme over at A2Z scraplets is "Summer"...I've used 'summer colours' in addition to the chipboard sun and word "Summer" are from the A2Z scraplets collection.

The sun was inked and “summer” is distress painted.
And certainly not the least challenging was using 'hexagons and stamping' as challenged by the lovely Annette Edmonds over at Orange Paperie (March Madness).
For this LO I used a Crafters Workshop template to cut out the hexagons from scraps from the Kaiser Botanical Odyssey range - left over from a recent class :)
I’ve also used some texture magic to 3d the hexagons at the top, and the word picnic is made from some rubber stamps, distress paint and Glossy Accents.
I hope you have a great week ahead – TFL. {hearts’n’hugs} Mazz xxx

treasured memories

I just adore this photo of my baby sister and her partner, so I had to create this LO and extra special one.

After all the inspiration from Twiddleybitz and seeing some of the awesome examples on their blog I decided to try a LO (TW-OV001) with one of their overlays. I picked this one because I thought it was the most feminine and I really wanted it to co-ordinate with this goegeous Kaiser (Secret Admirer) collection, that I've had stashed away:)
I certainly wasn't happy with the overlay after the first coat of paint - it didn't look antique enough for the photo.lol.  I started off by masking the plainish pp with Mustard Seed glimmer mist and circles in the punchinella stencil.

To achieve the end result took simply ages - due to drying times.

On top of the Tim Holtz distress paint (antique linen) I've also used a coat of Ranger crackle gel, Plaid texture magic/paste then to pick-up the 'blue' I've used embossing ink and Stampendous aged copper embossing powder.
By the way that's the same embossing powder I used on my last tutorial/LO which was extremely masculine - just goes to show how versatile this embossing powder is :)   I've used the same embossing powder on the Twiddleybitz c/b alpha title.

I really love this LO, I feel relieved that it all came together and I have loved the process of adding all the mediums, the layering of the Kaiser collectables, as well as the old crochet doily and very pink florist mesh and papers, that I have managed to tone together with theTim Holtz Distress Stain (tarnished brass) and the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (coffee shop & mustard seed).

You might also notice a few additional pieces of 'stash' that I've utilized, including the Twiddley heart mirror, eiffle towel die and tag,  creamy latte sugar beads and my2angels charming word (memories). To ensure the glimmer mist stayed on the charm I've first added a 'finger' of Claudine Hellmuth matte medium. Another hugely versatile product from my2angels :)

The bottom right hand layered cluster is made up of collectables and fussy cutting.

Thanks so much for looking today.  till next time... take care....hugs'n'hearts...Mazz xxx

My fairy

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinglitter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen in the light of a shooting star.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
